Gulf torpedo / Torpedo sinuspersici

Guld torpedo ( Torpedo sinuspersici ) or variable electirc ray is found in the Indian ocean . 


This ray can be identified by its distinctive dorsal coloration of a chocolate brown color with thick cream spots over the body .
The Gulf torpedo uses its electric shock organs to give a shock to its prey . These shock organs are also used as defective mechanism against sharks and octopuses . This ray is threatened by by-catch in trawl fishing .
