Blanford's Rock Agama ( Psamophilus blanfordanus) is a specie of agamid lizard know to be found in peninsular India . It is often mistaken as a Peninsular Rock Agama as both look very much similar. These are common in Eastern Ghats . It mostly feeds on insects. It is often seen on rocks and basking in the sun.
 
Identification : The male in breeding season has the red body color restricted to the head. The young ones and female look pretty similar with olive brown above, and female have large diamond shaped markings which dark brown in colour on the dorsal. They grow about 30 cms long including tail.

IUCN Status - Least Concerned .
