| Mouse tailed bats , Visakhapatnam
Mouse tailed bats belong to the family Rhinopomatidae . It belongs to genus Rhinopoma . They are known to live in large colonies . We have seen 8 individuals in a cave(entrance) . There are only 3-6 species of them known to have wide distribution with a preference of deserts and semi-arid climatic conditions
Identification : They are smasll bats with a long, thin, hairless tail and very slim limbs .
Their coat is sand coloured .
