Brahminy Shelduck(Tadorna ferruginea) is a water bird which is a regular winter visitor which arrives in December and stays upto April.They are often found in mudspits and sandbanks.

They feed on Vegetable matter , molluscs,crustaceans and aquatic insects , fish and reptiles .

They are large orange brown ducks with paler head and neck .Wings white black and green.

IUCN Status : Least Concern
