Northern Pintail ( Anas acuta ) has elongated body, slender neck, and long pointed pin like central tail feathers are diagnostic.
Commonest and most widespread migratory duck to entire India.
Found at jheels, brackish lagoons,tanks, reservoirs,estuaries mainly feeds on grass,corns,shoots, seeds of aquatic plants,worms and water insects.
Mitigating from central Siberia and Central Asia.
