Hammer head slug (Bipalium cf kewenese ) is popularly know as the know as the " hammerhead slug " due to its half- moon shaped head. It lives on land and it is the largest flatworm of the world with adults growing around 40 cms in average. Though its originally from south East Asia, it can be seen in many other countries as well . It can be identified by its unique half-moon shaped head,dark body colour. It is borrowing in nature and feeds on earthworms thus sometimes being considered as pest. Unlike most other flatworms , this one is not parasitic ans no harm to humans.
