Indian Pond Heron ,Visakhapatnam
Indian Pond Heron (Ardeola grayii ) rather extraordinary looking bird is to be found almost anywhere near water, be it a village pond, a stream , a river or even the seashore . Can stand for hours , hunched up, waiting for movement from edible sources like frogs, fish, crabs and insects. Every now and then walks in search of prey. stalk prey at the edge of small water bodies and they are semi colonial breeders.
